export osm geometry to skp

I'm wondering if there is a way to export the geometry of an osm file to a skp file so that someone without OpenStudio can examine the geometry. obviously a lot of data would not persist but ideally the rendering properties would and spaces would remain grouped.

Thanks.

You can just save a SKP file when you are in the rendering mode you want them to have access to and send them the SKP file. Should just work. It could be more complex if they had OpenStudio installed, because it might fail to find the OSM file on load and might then clear out the model, but if they don't have the OpenStudio SketchUp Plugin installed, that wont' happen.

Another option that only requires them to have a web browser, and also gives them access to render modes, is using the View Model Measure. You can run that using "Apply Measure Now" in the OpenStudio application or you can add it to your run-time workflow.

A third option would be to export to gbXML, if they have an application that can import that.

thanks David. I tired to save as skp and reopen and it did not seem to work but this is perhaps because i have open studio installed. ill give these a try.

You can mimic their setup by going to the "Extension Manger" under the "Window" menu and turn off OpenStudio, you may have to re-launch SketchUp. Then open up the SKP file.
