How to set heating and cooling thermostat in Open studio?

With Open studio, I set a simple model without using any HVAC system. In Results Summary, I got "Zone Air Tmeperature" chart runs from 18 °C to 28°C. I could not figure out where and how these values from.

Adside from this, I tried to set a new "humidifying setpoint schedule", and drag it under the Thermal zone-Humidifying Setpoint schedule. But lauching the simulation, this option disapeared.

Any solution for how to set constant indoor temperature and humidity?

The heating and cooling thermostat setpoint schedules are just storing a request for what temperature specific zones want to be at at different times of day/year. If you don't have an HVAC system or Ideal Air Loads serving that zone, then the thermostat won't do anything. The temperatures you are seeing for Zone Air Temperatures are just the uncontrolled temperatures in the zones based on the internal loads, envelope, and exterior conditions based on the weather file.

Controlling humidity isn't as simple as controlling temperature. Not all system types make use of the humidifying and dehumidifying setpoint schedules. Someone else might be able to point you to a list of which system types use these.

Hi David, Thanks a lot for your comment. Basically I got the power valution of the preliminary project, so far no systems are defined. I have to get the energy valuation by using Openstudio. After ran the simulation, the ResultsViewer shows "District Heating" and "District Cooling" values, I wonder if these values consist both energy for envelope and ventilation(In the load tab, people, lights, electric equipment, infiltrtion design flow rate are defined), but humidity.

Thank you very much for your time. Chen
