Why are InfraredTransparent materials leading to high calculated MRT?

Has anyone come across an issue with the calculation of mean radiant temperatures in zones where one of the envelope constructions includes a Material:InfraredTransparent? We have been getting unusually high MRTs in spaces with this type of construction, which when replaced by a standard construction disappears.

Does anyone know how 'surface temperatures' are set for MRT calculation when this type of material/construction is used?
