I have observed what looks like a bug: the shading surface groups associated to a building and site are rendered by view-data measure arbitrarily rotated, as you can see from comparing the Sketchup view of the roof and the corresponding view-data view as shown in the next two images:

I have not been able to identify the cause of this.
