questions about HVAC modelling

I am trying to model the HVAC system of the building that I'm studying for my thesis and am having some difficulties regarding which fields I should fill and which not. I have filled the fields up to group-airflow and I don't know what to do after that.

I read in the BigLadderSoftware site that Sizing:Zone, Sizing:System, and Sizing:Plant will be generated by the HVAC system so, I guess I don't have to fill anything in these fields?

Also, do I have to create nodes and branches? Or do I just fill the fields that are required for my HVAC system?

The HVAC system that exists in the building is a 2 pipe fan-coil so, so either choose the 4 pipe option or the ideal loads one.

Why don't you use a GUI as OpenStudio ? I find modeling a whole HVAC system in E+ really difficult, specially without strong knowledge of the software.

I don't think someone can really help you, as your question is too general. You should read HVAC documentation of E+ and try some simple examples to begin. Then you will probably have more specific questions.

It's not clear whether you're using HVAC templates which will generate most of what you need automatically.

If you need more than that then using a GUI like OpenStudio is a good option - probably the first thing to try unless you know that it can't model the system you're interested in.

Finally, if you really need to get into the nuts and bolts, the HVAC documentation (Plant Application Guide) is reasonably clear on the workflow to follow for a range of different system types.
