I am getting this error on simulating a small office for which I was fixing error in the air loop. I saw a couple of other crash question here at unmethour but can't figure out how to debug my idf file.
Water cooling coil's inlet and outlet node names are incorrect in branch named "Sec CW Loop Demand Load Branch". This is causing the crash. After correcting this, E+ produces error file with other severe/fatal errors.
I have had this problem a few times. My file was located too deep in the folder structure, and/or the names of files or directory were too long. Try relocating/renaming your idf. That worked for me, hope it does for you.
