Solving "Error creating DesignBuilderEnergyPlus out of process server"

I'm running DesignBuilder 4.2 with EnergyPlus 8.1 and I'm getting the error in the title. It's not on a specific model, it happens with any model I try to simulate, and it happens after the IDF has been successfully created. The only hits when searching for this error is this question on the DesignBuilder forum from last year but with no response (for DB version 3.5).

Has anyone come across and solved this problem before?

This seems to be an installation order problem. I had installed DesignBuilder a while ago, then subsequently uninstalled and reinstalled the same version of EnergyPlus, v8.1.0.009.

Reinstalling DesignBuilder solved the problem and all is now running OK. I'll leave this here in case anyone has the same problem in future.
