This will happen if EnergyPlus is installed to a non-default directory, even if the user has un the "Scan for Tools" utility. There is currently no workaround other than to install EnergyPlus to the default location.

TEST_RADIANCE.jpeg

Hi all, First of all, thanks to OS team for developing such a good and complete tool for energy and light modeling! I join you an *.osm file (just change the extension). I just tried to run a radiance simulation, with the dedicated script, and I think it’s not working.

I let the default folder installation.

The daylight sensor illuminance is equal to 0, so i don’t have the mean illuminance map, nor illuminance map, etc. Am I doing something wrong?

I’m working with OS 1.9.1 and have win 7 64 bits.

Thanks for your help!

Regards,

Mathieu

@Mathieu L., This model ran fine over here. Is it possible to share your "stderr" file from the Radiance run directory? Perhaps also use the latest iteration release (looks like you're using 1.9.1, we are at 1.9.4 at the moment)?

Hi,

I installed the last release and have the same problem...

The stderr file contains: DL is deprecated, please use Fiddle

oconv: warning - (materials\materials_WG0.rad): empty file

rcontrib: warning - (materials\materials_WG0.rad): empty file

rfluxmtx: missing receiver surface!

system - cannot open file 'output\dc\window_controls.vmx': No such file or directory

<stdin>: cannot load matrix

rmtxop: operation failed on '-'

If you want i can send you the file.

Thanks!

Hi,

Do you need the stderr file?

Any chance you could post the run directory on Dropbox or Copy or whatever?

Do you manage to download this? http://we.tl/Asz8WDK4Wn

Not to open a separate topic, the message appears in Ubuntu after installation of any Radiance release: Cannot find epw2wea tool in radiance installation at '/usr/bin' This problem was reported on GitHub but nobody has answered. OS 1.6

Thanks, we'll add an issue for that.

Ok. BTW is it possible to run multi-thread Radiance simulation on Windows?

Dinosaver's avatar Dinosaver (2015-03-03 14:02:48 -0500) edit

No, because the Radiance tools themselves are not multithreaded on Windows. Sorry!
