What are the BuildingStory Nominal Z, Floor to floor and floor to ceiling heights?

The BuildingStory object has a normal Z coordinate, nominal Floor to Floor Height, and nominal Floor to Ceiling Height.

Is that being actually used anywhere or is it just informative/for filtering purposes?
