What does normalizing floor area mean exactly?
I know, sounds like a dumb question but I'm just curious how it's defined exactly. Thank you!

Typically this means normalizing energy use per floor area. So you have an energy use per area (or (Energy Use Intensity - EUI) vs. just a total energy use. This makes it easier to compare buildings of different floor areas, or to compare your building to a benchmark.

Some model inputs may also be normalized. e.g. Lighting Power Density (LPD)
