In my project I got various thermal zones with only supply air with an AHU. This air is transfer by door grilles to a corridor and then is extracted by a fan. How can I model this situation?
You can model the corridor as a return plenum or you can use zonemixing. This question can help you on your way.
In my case the air is supply to a zone (room) by an AHU then is transfer to another zone (corridor) and finally is extracted by a fan with no return flow to the AirLoop. The extracted air pass by an heat recovery (the energy is transfer to the supply air). So should I use zonemixing right?
If you want to recover heat from the air, then I would go the return plenum route. This way you can add an Air-Air heat exchanger on your air loop. If you use ZoneMixing and a Fan:ZoneExhaust, you can't recover any of that heat easily. Note: the return plenum method won't work if your corridor is conditioned by other equipment. This video shows how to set up the plenum zones.
Ok I understand. Another thing, part of the air in the corridor go to the heat recovery, and other part is transfer to toilets, and then is extracted directly to the exterior. How can I model this situation?
Can you post a schematic drawing of your situation ? Maybe you can simplify the case. Is there 1 zone with an air supply or are multiple zones connected to a corridor. Do you have a supply fan and an extract fan + an exhaust fan for the toilets? ...
I don't know if you can add an exhaust fan to a plenum, if you can't I would still go for the mixing and add dummy (fictional) exhaust fans to maintain the balance in the supplying zones. However you will have to do the balancing of the system yourself like you did in the schematic.
