Simulation period with measured Data

Hey,

I have to run a building-simulation for a given period (November - February). My question: I have measured data for the parameters (just for this period): Temperature, RelHum, Windspeed; Radiation (norm, dif); skyCover. Do i need to set the simulation start to november ( = hour: ca. 8000) or can i start just with 0? Are there parameters (like the position of the sun) so that there is a differnt result if i start the simulation at hour 8 000 or 0 (January)?

If i have to start with hour 8000 (November) --> what would be a proper method: To copy measured data (like a week) and pase them into the first 8000 values, or should i just start the simulation at hour 8000? I have also measured data (like shade-control, etc.) for this period: Does E+ automatically recognize at schedule:File if the "time-column" start at 8000, or do i have to add values from 0-8000?

Thank you very much for your help!

It is possible to run simulations across end of year, e.g. from November to February. In order to do this, you should have a weather file with appropriate DATA PERIOD ( see header of epw file), e.g.

DATA PERIODS,1,6,myPeriod,Tuesday,11/17, 2/27

If you want to run your simulation for this weather file period, specify this as your run period for EnergyPlus. Otherwise you can try other run periods by specifying them e.g. in IDF Editor.

Remark: if you have n measurements per hour in your weather file ( e.g. in above example n=6), then you need to set number of simulation time steps also to n.

You may find an EXAMPLE here
