How to create a model for open studio without Sketch-up? [closed]

Hello.

Recently I have been trying to create a theoretical building model simply by using the tools in Open Studio, however any time i try to run a simulation it usually ends in error. Is it even feasible to create the model solely in Open Studio or is the Sketch-up Plug in required?

Four options come to mind.

Use the bar aspect ratio measure to make a core and perimeter multi-story rectangular building. There are other building shapes in the Plugin User-scripts, but they have not been made into measures yet. But it is a single click to make them.
You can use Virtual Pulse to make an OSM and then extend it in OpenStudio Application.
You can use gbXML import. The scope of the input is described here.
Or use BIMserver to bring in IFC.

Of course the last two options offload the geometry modeling to another tool, and it may take effort to make sure it is made and translates cleanly.

If you model without SketchUp and want to view your model you can use the View Model measure.
