installing OpenStudio plugin

Do I need to install Energy plus to run the plugin in sketchup?

How do I install legacy_openstudio_v1.0.14.rbz?

I already have sketchup 2015 and installed the openstudio plug in but when starts it appears this window:

Which version of OpenStudio are you trying to use? Do you want to use the new OpenStudio or do you want to use the legacy OpenStudio plug-in (works on IDF only).

I downloaded version 1.9.0 I would like to use it inside Sketchup, thanks for answering!

So basically how do I install correctly the plug in for sketchup? Which files should I install?

You don't need to install the legacy plug in if you have downloaded openstudio 1.9.0. Technically, you install sketchup first, and then you install openstudio 1.9.0 and it should automatically work.

Will it not work if I had sketchup previously installed? should I install first open studio?

I found the answer, the problem was administrator access to several files.

Thanks everyone!

Can you expand on that so that other people who have this problem might benefit?

After opening sketchup a window would appear and the problem above will appear.

The problem was solved after logging into windows as an administrator and the problem does not longer appears.

Hope that helps!

Do you always have to log in as an administrator to use the OpenStudio SketchUp plug-in or was this a one time fix and now it works under your usual user account?

Every time, because I am using it from the office and the computers have restricted access to some files. Thats why I wasnt able to use it.

Hi, I have the same problem but I'm using my own desktop and I'm in administrator account. Do you know how can I solve this?

I have installed and reinstalled SU and OS several times and also cleaned up every related files before re-installation, the problem still exists.

It looks like some issue with OpenSSL libraries is preventing the OpenStudio plugin from loading. What other SketchUp plugins do you have installed? Can you try going through the steps listed here.

Wow!!! thank you so much. it perfectly solve the problem. yes, re-install Sketchup and then openstudio, and copy that two files into sketchup folder worked.
