OS Skp Plugin Root Directory setting not working on Mac

I've got a number of students who have installed Sketchup 2022 and OpenStudio 1.7.2. The OS SketchUp plugin won't recognize the root directory path either automatically or when manually input. What is going wrong?

Does the plug-in load? Can you open Extensions->Developer->Ruby Console before accepting the plug-in path and capture the output?

The plugin would not load. I'm not sure if would have been possible to open the Ruby console, but I wound up having them all upgrade to OpenStudio 1.8.3 and Skp 2024 and everything seems to be working fine now.
