Revision history [back]
In EnergyPlus the End Use Subcategory
field can be used for reporting. In OpenStudio, most of these fields have not been exposed yet (e.g. ElectricEquipment, Fan:ConstantVolume, Fan:VariableVolume), but for the Fan:ZoneExhaust it is. Entering a name such as "Parking Garage" will add a subcategory to the ABUPS End Use Subcategory table and one to the Energy Meters table.
Field: End-Use Subcategory
Allows you to specify a user-defined end-use subcategory, e.g., “Central System”, etc. A new meter for reporting is created for each unique subcategory (ref: Output:Meter objects). Subcategories are also reported in the ABUPS table. If this field is omitted or blank, the fan will be assigned to the “General” end-use subcategory.
This will report the total annual energy and demand for the exhaust fans. To get the total exhaust fan power for LEED, I use the Equipment Summary report which contains a table for Fans listing the rated electric power. There's also a table for Pumps to check the W/gpm values in this report.
