The eplusout.err file will have the specific cause of the error. Navigate to it inside the OpenStudio app (see image below) or through the OSM file directory: osm file name folder > run > 6-EnergyPlus-0 > eplusout.err

Open the ERR file and search for either "severe" or "fatal" errors, those will be the ones causing the simulation to fail.

I always use the Add Output Diagnostics measure and "DisplayAllWarnings" which provides more detailed descriptions of the errors.any errors I encounter.
