I would like to have Text editor to view the ERR files, but I do not know how can I set it as the default program. If I am not wrong I went Extensions>Openstudio>preferences. And I browsed notepad.exe but I do not know why when I click browse in Template it does not work? And even though which address should I choose? Can anyone please help me with that?
This is a operating system setting. It looks like you're trying to set the default text editor for the OpenStudio SketchUp Plugin not which program opens the ERR file after an EnergyPlus simulation in the OpenStudio application.
On a Windows 7 machine it can be done the following ways.
Control Panel > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a program
Right click on the ERR file

@MatthewSteen But I do not know why when I right click on "eplusout.err" the options like: (Return/ show job warnings and errors/ cleanup job output/open Directory) are still OFF for me and I do not have access to them. Would you please help me? Thx in advance

I thinks that's by design, but you should be able to click open or simply double click the ERR file and have your default editor open the file.
@MatthewSteen Yes, Thanks to your answer ,Now I am able to read ERR file by my default texteditor (Notepad). But I was a little bit curious to know why the other options like Return/Show Job...and etc. are OFF? I think maybe its not a big deal!
